Robert Darbourne was born and raised in London. he came to Australia in his mid twenties and remained. He has a keen interest in the human form, particularly a person's physiognomy, and the natural world. He explores this preoccupation through drawing and painting. He does not view painting as a step-by-step, linear process; but rather one of exploration and the unintentional. His work is held in private colllections in Perth, England and Malaysia. Darbourne studied art at Midland TAFE, the Central Institute of Technology, and Curtin University, graduating in 2012.
