Formed in 2012, WA Portrait Artists is an association of artists who include portraiture within their practice. Each year we host a group exhibition to promote our members’ work and showcase the diversity of interpretation that make up the genre.​

To become a member of the group, artists must live in or have a connection to Western Australia and have been a finalist in a major portraiture award such as the Lester Prize, Doug Moran National Portrait Prize or The Archibald. We also have juried membership invitations for recognised artists within the genre of portraiture.

During the exhibition, we hold workshops, demonstrations and artist talks for members of our community to engage in.​
